Book publishing these days isn’t easy. It is, unfortunately, a declining market. Guidebooks in particular are a difficult animal due partly to the way we access information quickly and freely online. But the nature and research behind the Ski Mountain series got us quite excited in the studio.

The Project

Ski Mountain have been researching and guiding off-piste skiing in Scotland for decades. They wanted to produce area related guidebooks aimed at skiers of all abilities illustrating safe, yet exciting ways to extend the Scottish ski season to almost year-round. The task was to deliver lots of information in an engaging, easy to read format, and in a way that would encourage readers to use the book as an ongoing reference guide … but with bags of personality.
